As April ushers in a beautiful spring renewal, the Hall hosts a month of invigorating cultural events, lectures, dance, music, and opportunities to connect where all are welcome.

Dance Classes with Lindy Bartruff

Participate in fun and fitness while dancing under the instruction of director-choreographer Lindy Bartruff.

3:00 - 4:00 p.m. Aerobic Dance Do you love to dance and yearn for an easy, energizing outlet? Ignite your afternoons with lively routines based on simple dance movements. A new routine weekly, no experience necessary, and walk-ins are welcome. $15 per class or four for $50.

4:00 - 5:00 p.m. Line Dance Country to hip-hop influences, Line Dance is exhilarating and easy to learn. Niwot Hall is your wall-to-wall dance hall. No experience necessary. Walk-ins welcome, participation is free of charge.
|
5:00 - 6:00 p.m. Tap (through Apr. 29) Welcome to Whole Body tap technique, vocabulary, and dance combinations. Some dance experience helpful, but not required. $15 per class or four for $50. Registration is required for Tap classes.

The Rotary Club of Niwot welcomes the community to their morning gatherings at Niwot Hall. Breakfast and coffee are served at each meeting.

This special afternoon of tunes features many talented local artists performing their renditions of familiar songs with some original pieces thrown in.

The performers are scheduled by invitation only and the entire community is welcome to listen and enjoy the show free of charge. Complimentary refreshments are provided.

Niwot Community Connection
|
In addition to updates on local news and learning what each NCC interest group is up to, the April meeting will feature a presentation by longtime Niwot resident, Scott Tibbitts. Tibbitts is known for many things including founding Starsys Research and his beloved storytelling sessions at Niwot Elementary.
|
From humble beginnings, Tibbits built a successful space company and went on to be a published author. His diverse experiences include years of entertaining children with his imaginative tales, performing in a classic rock band, and recently Tibbits has stepped into improv comedy with audience-directed themes. His presentation will feature insights into the storytelling process and a live story, promising to captivate the audience with the same charm that has delighted generations of Niwot students.

Niwot Wellness Lecture Series
|
Niwot's own wellness experts have created a series of presentations at Niwot Hall that will keep you healthy and happy. The first speaker in the series is Dr. Janine Malcolm, owner of Niwot Natural Medicine. Dr. Malcolm will explain the role nutrition plays in our everyday lives, elaborate on the many dietary terms we've all been hearing about, and offer valuable insights along with practical tips for nutritional wellness. Admission is free, register here.

NCA Annual Members Meeting
|
The Niwot Community Association is an advocate for you on important issues like land use and traffic control, open space and trails planning, and subdivision road paving. The NCA hosts annual events such as Clean Up Day in May, the Fourth of July parade, and National Night Out which enhance our sense of community. Are you not an NCA member yet? You're welcome to join during this event.

The NCA is hosting two fascinating speakers at this year's annual meeting. Kathy Koehler, President of the Niwot Historical Society, will present "The Spirit of Colorado," a slide show that will take you on a timeline trip through the growth and development of the Niwot area from the mid-1800's to 2025, the Sesquicentennial Anniversary Year.

Phil Yates, Sr. Communications Manager for the City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks Department, will speak about Arapaho, Cheyenne, and Native community events the Niwot Cultural Arts Association (NCAA) sponsored in March. Along with the guidance of Tom Myer, Niwot's first Native Art Market opened with great success. The following day, Yates and Myer welcomed Fred Mosqueda (Southern Arapaho) and Chester Whiteman (Southern Cheyenne) to share their perspectives during a community event titled "Building Arapaho, Cheyenne and Niwot Relationships.

Stop at participating businesses throughout Niwot, each having adopted a country to celebrate. This year, Niwot Hall is celebrating Ireland with Celtic music and dance performances throughout the day.

Then & Now Lecture Series presents

Walker Ranch, Where Colorado's
|
Get a glimpse into the history of agriculture in Boulder County with an overview of Walker Ranch Homestead. This site focuses on the years 1900 to 1925 when local families prospered as farmers and witnessed the coming of the Modern Age. Speaker Laurie Bedford is a volunteer for Boulder County’s Cultural and Heritage Programs. Bedford will elaborate on how living history volunteers bring history to life at Walker Ranch Homestead.

Linda's bio states "I started out with a realistic or representational style, and still enjoy this, but found myself drawn more and more to the abstract. I enjoy painting both in pastel, acrylic, and mixed media."
