Ollin Farms Food & Community Health Discussion - Who's Your Farmacist?
|
Ollin Farms is excited to host their annual winter presentation at the Hall. This year they are partnering with Hazel Dell Mushrooms, Buckner Family Ranch, and Craugh Catering for an important and timely public discussion about the important role of local agriculture in regenerating the health of soil and our bodies.

The Ollin Farms team will present updates about the season ahead and will be joined by guest presenters all working to spread health and wellness within the Boulder County community. Free to all attendees.

Community Meeting Regarding the Development of the Former Feedstore
|
|
Architects Anne Postle and Tucker Huey of Osmosis Architecture plan to unveil a proposed 9,300 square foot mixed-use building on the third of an acre lot on the location of the former Niwot Rental and Feed business. This community engagement opportunity is for residents and stakeholders to state any concerns, recommendations, and to inquire about the proposed development.

Discover the artistry and traditions of Native artists and indigenous communities at the Niwot Native American Art Market, hosted by the Niwot Community Arts Association in partnership with Create áYA, a non-profit dedicated to empowering Native creatives.

This free family-friendly market will feature handmade creations from talented Native artists, offering a unique opportunity to explore and purchase a diverse range of works including paintings, beadwork, jewelry, and comic books.

Building Arapaho, Cheyenne & Niwot Relationships

As Niwot marks its 150th anniversary, the Hall is pleased to present this free special community event with representatives from the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes. The evening is sponsored by the Niwot Cultural Arts Association and the Niwot Local Improvement District.

We look forward to listening to and learning from Fred Mosqueda, Southern Arapaho Outreach Specialist and Sand Creek Massacre Representative along with Chester Whiteman, Southern Cheyenne Outreach Specialist and and Sand Creek Massacre Representative. Both representatives bring their histories, cultures, and perspectives into Niwot's continuing community history.

Participate in fun and fitness while dancing under the instruction of director-choreographer Lindy Bartruff.

3:00 - 4:00 p.m. Aerobic Dance Ignite your afternoons with fun routines based on simple dance movements. New routines weekly. No experience necessary. Walk-ins welcome. $15/class or 4 classes for $50.

4:00 - 5:00 p.m. Line Dance Learn standard and new dances with influences from country to hip hop. No experience necessary. Walk-ins welcome. $15/class or 4 classes for $50.

5:00 - 6:00 p.m. Tap (through Apr. 29) Welcome to Whole Body tap technique, vocabulary, and dance combinations. Some dance experience helpful, but not required. Registration is required for Tap classes.

This special afternoon of tunes features up to 11 talented local artists performing their renditions of familiar songs with some original pieces thrown in.
|
The performers are by invitation only and the community is welcome to listen and enjoy the show free of charge. Complimentary refreshments are provided.

Niwot Community Connection
|
In addition to updates on local news and learning what each NCC interest group is up to, the March meeting features local guest speaker, Steve McCarthy who brings a wealth of Olympic experience from his involvement in every Olympic Game and Torch Relay since 1996. He served as the director of the 2004 Relays for Athletes - the first global Olympic Torch Relay. Steve will give attendees an inside look at his experiences and the complex coordination behind transferring the Olympic torch, from media coverage to security.

The meeting will also feature Becky Crandall's discussion about the Niwot Garden Club, a new group to join the NCC. During the gardening season, members will meet each month to exchange knowledge and enjoy the beauty of local gardens.

The music and storytelling of Niwotian Andy Mann will join forces with Seattle folk icon, Eli West and his trio, on stage at Niwot Hall,
The intimacy of historic Niwot Hall makes it the perfect place to combine the passion of award-winning National Geographic photographer, Andy Mann's talents of storytelling and songwriting alongside his longtime friend and multi-instrumentalist/songwriter, Eli West.
Through Andy's love of folk music, you'll be taken on a journey that weaves in humor, adventure on the high seas, and humanity.

Michael DeLalla, is a Niwotian guitarist, composer, and author. Michael's latest book is a compilation culled from his journals and tour blog documenting a musician's life immersed in creativity and the never-ending quest for beauty, insight, and wisdom. Light refreshments will be served and there's no cost to attend.

The Hall's Micro-Wedding Open House

Come see our charming and affordable micro-wedding venue. It's the perfect spot for a one-of-a-kind celebration! Joins us for a fun afternoon where you can meet local wedding vendors, take a tour of this historic venue, enjoy small bites from our local caterers (Craugh Catering and Cimmini's Restaurant), sip on specialty mocktails and cocktails from Red Eye Libations, and take a carriage ride through town. There is no place quite like Niwot to get married.

Celebrate Niwot's 150th Birthday
|
Join your neighbors to celebrate this Sesquicentennial with live music by Pete & Joan Wernick and special guest fiddler, Justin Hoffenberg, along with local favorite, Kevin Dooley. Watch the Then & Now slideshow where you will take a journey through Niwot's history. Contribute an item to a time capsule which will be opened in 25 years. Enjoy sweet treats like Prosecco, cupcakes, and Love's Ice Cream. Capture the moment in a photo booth. Feel free to dress the part from 1875 by donning vintage, railroad, and western attire.

Linda's bio states "I started out with a realistic or representational style, and still enjoy this, but found myself drawn more and more to the abstract. I enjoy painting both in pastel, acrylic, and mixed media."
