Join the Boulder Philharmonic String Quartet for Fireflies and the Philharmonic – a lecture and music event featuring Dr. Orit Peleg from the University of Colorado Boulder and musicians from the Boulder Philharmonic.
Did you know there are fireflies in Boulder County? Dr. Peleg runs the Peleg Lab – an interdisciplinary group of researchers based at the University of Colorado Boulder. Their goal is to formulate and test phenomenological theories about natural signal design principles and their emergent spatiotemporal patterns. Reading about this research, we recognized a parallel with some fundamental elements of music including rhythm, patterns and spatial use of sound. The presentation will be interwoven with scientific research and music. The program will run 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm.
